From the start, “Same” has the feeling of muscles loosening after a long deep breath. The repeated line “As we change, is our love the same?” reckons with the idea of questioning love and giving ourselves permission to do so. Producer/Artist Juan Ariza had a big hand in the dense yet atmospheric production. The sounds all dance around the idea that freedom of viewing love as a choice and not as an obligation.
